The Alleve guide
to float therapy

Everything you need to know about your Alleve float session

How your float session works

Reset mind and body with a 60-minute float, in your own private room. Includes extra time for showering and changing. One person per tank.

01. Check-in & shower

When you arrive, you'll be taken to your private room. We'll provide a float induction and answer any questions. Begin by taking a shower to remove any oils or lotions from your hair and body. Cover any scratches or cuts with vaseline (provided).

02. Insert your earplugs

We provide earplugs to prevent water from entering your ears, allowing you to fully disconnect and enjoy the float experience without distractions. While wearing earplugs is optional, we highly recommend using them

03. Enter the float tank

Step into the tank and close the door behind you. Lie back and let the Epsom salt-enriched water support you effortlessly. Relax your head and neck, stretch, and find your comfortable position. The lights will fade out after 10 minutes

04. Relax & breathe

Relax, let your thoughts drift away, and focus on deep, calming breaths. Control the lights as you wish, remember, you're in control. If needed, a panic button is available. Music will gently return 5 minutes before your session ends

05. Exiting the tank

When the filter comes on, it’s time to finish your float. Carefully exit the tank, taking care not to slip. Shower thoroughly to rinse off all salt from your hair and body, using our provided Scottish Sea Kelp products to leave you feeling refreshed

06. Reflect and rehydrate

Head to the beauty room and take a moment to ease back into reality. Enjoy a warm cup of herbal tea, allowing yourself a gentle pause to savour the deep relaxation and carry that lasting sense of peace and clarity into your day

You can choose between two different float cycles:

OPTION ONE —

Sound of silence

This recommended cycle offers the longest period of sensory deprivation, allowing full immersion in this unique environment. By embracing complete silence and darkness, you can experience deeper mental relaxation and enhanced overall well-being.

SESSION TIMINGS

  • Pre-float
5 minutes to shower, and to get into the tank

  • First 10 mins
    Calming lights and music

  • Next 45 mins
    Silence and darkness

  • Last 5 mins
    Return of lights and music

  • Float exit
    Exit when the filter starts

We recommend using silicone earplugs for this cycle

OPTION TWO —

Guided meditation

Ideal for those who struggle to quiet their mind.

A calming meditation that helps you focus on your breath and body, allowing you to drift into relaxation. Not suitable for those with hearing impairments.

SESSION TIMINGS

  • Pre-float
8 minutes to shower, and settle into the tank, with calming lights and music

  • First 20 mins
    Guided meditation in darkness

  • Next 30 mins
    Silence and darkness

  • Last 5 mins
    Return of lights and music

  • Float exit
    Exit when the filter starts

We recommend using foam earplugs, ensuring ears are submerged

Additional Information:

  • You control the lights during your float. Feel free to turn them back on if you prefer.

  • You can request music throughout our float, but we highly recommend remaining in darkness and silence for the best experience.

  • It may take up to three sessions to fully adjust to the tank. Once you learn to relax completely, the benefits are profound.
